How can I vote?

EARLY: Absentee In-Person voting is available beginning October 14 through 5 p.m. November 2 at the county auditor’s office. 

ABSENTEE: Mail-In Absentee Ballots  must be requested by October 19. Ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day or hand deliver your ballot to the auditor. Request a ballot at: https://sos.iowa.gov/elections/pdf/absenteeballotapp.pdf 

ELECTION DAY: Vote in-person on November3 at your assigned polling place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

What will the ballot say?

On November 3, 2026, a date pre-determined by state law, residents of the I-35 District in Clarke, Madison, and Warren counties will have the opportunity to vote to allow the district to use a general obligation bond to fund the second phase of its facility master plan, including improvements to learning spaces and a new activities complex. The following language will appear on the ballot.

“Shall the Board of Directors of the Interstate 35 Community School District in the Counties of Clarke, Madison, and Warren, State of Iowa, be authorized to contract indebtedness and issue General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to exceed $12,300,000 to provide funds to remodel, repair, improve, and equip the school building, including reconfiguration of academic spaces, HVAC, mechanical and exterior improvements; to build, furnish, and equip athletic facilities, including a new stadium and track, parking, and site improvements, and for related improvements to repurpose the existing track and field, bleachers, and press box; and for site and access improvements to the school campus?”
