Would the new stadium be used for high school soccer if the district fields teams?
A new or renovated turf stadium would have the lines for competition school soccer. A multi-purpose field is being proposed if the new field is built to the North, which could host sports teams practices.
Does building new add a vast amount more years of use compared to updating or renovating in place?
A completed renovated field would be built to the expectations of a brand new facility, so both would be expected to last as long as the other.
Could the multi-use field be used by other teams, school-aged programs, etc.?
Yes. This would be used no differently than current facilities with Roadrunner Youth programs.
What is the cost comparison between grass and turf in terms of maintaining annually?
There is a cost comparison table found on the website showing the multi-year cost ratio expectation for both. (Here it is.) Turf has a higher upfront cost and less annual cost, while grass has the higher annual cost but less upfront cost.
What happens to the gravel lot to the west?
Currently, there is not a set plan for the gravel area.
Does limiting the bond proposal to $10M vs. $12M really change homeowners taxes, positive or negative?
The difference between the two total amounts compared to annual homeowner cost estimates/expectations would have a minimal impact between a $10M bond and a $12M bond. The intent is to have no impact on taxes with the new bond.
Is it more normal to have the football field run north-south?
Yes, a majority of football fields in Iowa (high school fields) due run North and South. The home side is on the west with the sun to the backs of the home team and fans.
Does renovating in place mean there would be two sets of outdoor restrooms and concessions buildings?
Yes. We would need to bring the current restrooms to ADA compliance and look at updating the concessions building to last for decades into the future.
Would the loop road allow for a better traffic pattern around the district?
Yes, a loop road connecting the east side of campus to the west would allow for one way traffic through the back of the district grounds.
