Recently, we asked our families, staff, and community members to share their input on the district’s facility and infrastructure needs. The responses provided a clear roadmap for where our community would like to see improvement and investment. These priorities reflect our shared goal of creating safe, functional, and future-ready spaces for our students and staff. This includes classroom spaces, outdoor spaces and areas throughout our campus. As we move forward in planning and decision-making, these survey results will serve as a critical foundation to ensure we’re aligning our resources with what matters most to the Roadrunner community.
Priorities List
- Providing air conditioning to I-35 staff who work outside the classroom and to community members, students and staff who work, learn, and/or attend events in the high school gym
- Address general maintenance repairs across campus to ensure a safe, well-maintained building for the long-term:
- Tunnel repairs
- EFIS repairs
- Elementary Gym leak repairs
- Provide space for elementary to expand program needs, additional daycare rooms and moving all secondary students to be in proximity to like-age students. But doing so in a way that is fiscally responsible and uses school space to an efficient way.
- Renovate Pre-K, daycare, high school classrooms, and the ICN room
- Provide a safer way for students to get from student parking to the school building
- Create a one-way traffic pattern around campus to improve safety and flow
- Improve outdoor athletic spaces for a better and safer experience for students, coaches, visitors and community members. This includes addressing needs for additional parking and improved restrooms.
- Creation of a multi-purpose field so other programs (like soccer) have a place to practice and grow
